Judging even from the commercial point of view NCC and VSN were/are far more successful than Sasthi. After MGDY, nothing of much significance was written by Sasthi. From just the literary point of view,if one ploughs through MGDY , the reader will find the novelty waning after the first 100 pages. The writing after that is quite monotonous and does not lead anywhere unlike "Autobiography of ....." by NCC or "Thy hand ......." which can be read in itself as historical documents where at least 30 years of social and political life as lived by a bengali caste hindu in Bengal has been precisely narrated.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9082470.post-1152261040388248982006-07-07T14:00:00.000+05:302006-07-07T14:00:00.000+05:30Sakshi - "As the intellectual torch bearers of mod...Sakshi - "As the intellectual torch bearers of modern india that responsibility of finding answers solely falls on our shoulders...and the passive urban middle class of india doesnt offer me any hope.."

I thunk you are quite right. This, in my opinion, is the single-largest tragedy India has countenanced.seven_times_sixhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14109404912053774751noreply@blogger.com
