Cheers to both of us then, proofreading-tired writer and eager reader!sumana001https://www.blogger.com/profile/07145791768599143668noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9082470.post-22319958236481771622008-10-16T14:13:00.000+05:302008-10-16T14:13:00.000+05:30Sumana - Since every writer wishes above all to gr...Sumana - Since every writer wishes above all to gratify the readers he or she respects most, I am delighted to hear this. I must reveal, also, that in my mind there is a bank - a small bank, but with a lot of double-counting that dramatically expands its deposits - of all the good things that people have said about my work. And on the days on which my lazy self threatens to fall asleep as I sit before my desk (I fear the kind of stillness and peace I like best is not the kind Buddha exhorted human beings to cultivate) I rap on the doors of this bank and am brought to life again. And in this fashion I hop from day to day, and words turn into sentences, sentences paragraphs, paragraphs pages, pages chapters. And as you must know too, chapters must eventually culminate in something, preferably hard-bound. And at the bottom of it all is this bank of compliments.Chandrahashttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07483080477755487202noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9082470.post-44818594398751392008-10-15T15:03:00.000+05:302008-10-15T15:03:00.000+05:30Brilliant, as I said on the Pratilipi site.I think...Brilliant, as I said on the Pratilipi site.<BR/>I think it is one of your best essays. And to hear the sound of a voice, a mind, from nearly two thousand years ago, so clear and so insistent - such encounters are among life's greatest pleasures.Chandrahashttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07483080477755487202noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9082470.post-49291565302914305362008-10-13T07:47:00.000+05:302008-10-13T07:47:00.000+05:30Hash,Loved this.
